It has been busy recently. My wife had our son Grant on 02/09/2012. We were at the hospital for 6 days. Then had to go back for another day because he had jaundice. He  is doing better now. Wow, I am tired of hospitals.

Sewer and Water Project

by on Dec.22, 2011, under General

The sewer and water project in the neighborhood was completed in October. They were still seeding grass into November. I have another round of pictures from the summer I took when they were tearing up our yard with the sewer lines and such. Our neighbors got a manhole put right in their driveway. Funny to come home one day and see a 20×20 foot hole 10 feet deep in the driveway.

Done with 2004

by on Sep.09, 2011, under General, Trains

I finished uploading and posting my trains pictures from 2004. I could tell a difference when I went through them again to do some quick post processing on how far photo software has come. I was able to make some washed out images look descent. Next will be 2003 pictures. That is as far back as my collections goes. I have been trying to tag everything correctly.

Fish Fry

by on Aug.30, 2011, under Food

Even though my website is mostly center around trains and photography I keep finding some other interesting stuff to post. I have been working on a large batch of train pictures from 04. Soon those will be posted. Although tonight we had fried Tilapia for dinner. It came out so good I had to take a picture. I must say it was better then most fish I have had at restaurants. I cut the fillets into smaller pieces and gave them an egg bath. Then they were breaded with a mixture of flour, corn meal and Hugh’s Rub. This rub can be used in a lot of things and it is a great all around dry rub mixture. You can find it on  Allrecipes.com here.

Construction in the neighborhood

by on Aug.11, 2011, under General

This is my first post for my blog. I have everything basically setup the way I want it. I still have a little more tweaking. I walked around the neighborhood tonight and took some pictures of the construction going on. They are putting sewer and water lines in the subdivision. It has been going on since early June. I think most of the water mains are in and next will be the sewer mains. Everything is a dusty mess it seems because the road is tore up. We have a wild plum tree at the back of our property. I was glad they didn’t dig it out this week. A few branches were cut off, but that was ok.
